Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not be “shunning” Pippa Middleton during their wedding ceremony, despite a new report. Gossip Cop can correct this made-up story. We’re told there’s “no basis” for the claim.
According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, there’s a good chance Prince Harry and his fiancee won’t invite Middleton to their May nuptials because she “refused to have Meghan Markle attend her own wedding ceremony when she married James Matthews earlier this year.” Without any facts to back up its assertion, the often discredited site contends Markle wasn’t invited to the ceremony because “Pippa didn’t want Meghan to overshadow her on the most important day of her life.” After maintaining that Prince Harry was “forced” to attend the ceremony by himself, while Markle was only allowed to join him later at the reception, the outlet alleges the “move didn’t come as a surprise to anyone” because Middleton “wanted to keep the media focus on herself during her wedding.”
Actually, Middleton invited Markle to come with Prince Harry to wedding ceremony, as well as the reception, but it was the redheaded royal and his then-girlfriend who felt her presence would upstage the bride on her big day. Instead, they decided only Prince Harry would be at the church service. CDL’s contention that Middleton “refused” to have Markle at her wedding and “forced” Prince Harry to go solo is 100 percent inaccurate.
That’s why the outlet’s latest claim about Prince Harry and Markle “shunning” Middleton when they wed in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in May is factually wrong. At this point, the newly engaged couple have yet to draft the guest list. Still, a Markle insider tells Gossip Cop on background that the site’s article has “no basis” in reality. Sadly, Gossip Cop is not remotely surprised CDL got its facts completely backwards.
Remember, it’s the same outlet we corrected when it falsely maintained Markle was “urging” Prince Harry to move to Los Angeles. It’s also the same site that inaccurately reported Markle was using Prince Harry to boost her Hollywood career. Of course, Markle gave up acting and moved to England after it was announced that she and Prince Harry are engaged. If anything, CDL is consistent, albeit consistently wrong.
